Rev. Chad Whitley, Pastor

Chad joined Poplar Springs Baptist Church in 2013, having served for fourteen years as a student pastor in both North Carolina and Texas. He received a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University) in 2000, and an M.Div from the Campbell University Divinity School in 2008. 

Chad has been married to his partner in ministry, Carol Ann, since 2001, and they have two children, Autumn and Gabe.

Mrs. Pam Parker, Music and Worship Visuals Leader

Pam joined Poplar Springs Baptist Church in December of 2012 after retiring from teaching.  She is a graduate from Appalachian State University with a degree in Special Education and a minor in music.  She has been married to Tom, who is an accounting professor as well as a pastor, since 1982, and they have two daughters, Carrie and Alyssa, one granddaughter, Audrey and one grandson, Samuel.

Mrs. Sandra Burchette, Administrative Assistant

Sandra joined Poplar Springs Baptist Church in September of 2024 after retiring as a public school administrator. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University with a BS in Elementary Education, an MA in School Administration, and an EdS in Educational Administration. She and her husband, Brian, have been married since 1991 and have one son, Nathaniel.
