Plan your visit

If this is your first time visiting PSBC, we welcome you! We know a first visit to a church can be intimidating, so we've created this page to answer some of the questions you might have to help you feel right at home.

Where Do I Park?

Parking is conveniently located at the front of the building, around the side, and in the back. Most of our members park in the latter two lots, so we invite and encourage all visitors to park right up front! From there, follow the concrete ramp right through our front doors and straight into the sanctuary! All first time guests are encouraged to fill out one of our connection cards, in exchange for which we have prepared a small gift we'd like to give you--just a small token of appreciation for spending the worship hour with us. Connection cards are yellow and are located in the back of our pews!

What Do I Wear?

The short answer is, "whatever you feel comfortable in!" At PSBC, you will see a variety of styles, from suits and dresses to blue jeans and tennis shoes. You don't have to "dress to the nines" to fit in here. We only ask that everyone be considerate; Poplar Springs Baptist Church is a family-oriented congregation who seeks to reach people of all ages, from senior adults to small children.

What Is A Typical Sunday Morning Like?

We're glad you asked! Sunday School begins at 9:00 AM, and there are small group opportunities for adults, students, and children. Our worship service begins at 10:00 AM. Typically, the service lasts about an hour and 15 minutes, and includes traditional hymns, some contemporary music, a choral presentation, and a Bible-based, life-relevant message by our pastor.

All school-aged children remain in the Sanctuary for the duration of the worship service. For children ages 3-6, we do offer an optional Children's Church program. Participants usually depart the sanctuary for the children's department (located just down the hall) right before the sermon, and remain there until their parents pick them up at the end of the service. Currently, our children's church workers are using Lifeway's The Gospel Project curriculum. You can read more about it at https://www.gospelproject.com/kids/.

We have a nursery area available for little ones that are 2 years old and younger. This space is about halfway down the hall and is staffed with church volunteers who are ready to help care for your baby in any way that they can. The nursery is also a safe place for nursing mothers.
